Question

Calculate the mass of the following:

0.2mol atom of oxygen

Open in App
Solution

  • The mole formula is-
  • Mole(mol)=Mass(g)Molarmass(g/mol)
  • We can rearrange the formula to get the mass formula-
  • Mass(g)=Mole(Mol)×Molarmass(g/mol)
  • Molar mass of O- 16g/mol
  • Mole of O- 0.2mol
  • We substitute these values in the mass formula.
  • Mass=0.2×16
  • Mass=3.2g
  • Hence, the mass of 0.2mol of oxygen atoms is 3.2g.
