Question

Calculate the mass percentage of solution if 11 g of oxalic acid are dissolved in 500 mL.

Open in App
Solution

Mass of oxalicDens acid=11g
mass of solution =500ml
density = 1.1 g/ml(assume)
know that
Mass % of solute = Mass of solute/mass of solution ×100
Mass of solution = Volume of solution ××Density of solution
Mass of solution =500×1.1=50×11g
Mass %% of the solute =11×100/×50×11=2%
∴Mass%∴Mass% of oxalid in the solution, 2 percentage
