Question

Calculate the Molecular Mass of CarbonDioxide CO2.

Open in App
Solution

The Atomic mass of CarbonC is 12

The Atomic mass of Oxygen(O) is 16.

Therefore, Molecular Mass of CarbonDioxide CO2 = Atomic mass of Carbon + 2×(Atomic mass of Oxygen).

Molecular Mass of CarbonDioxide CO2 = 12+2×(16) .

= 44g/mol

Hence, the Molecular Mass of CarbonDioxide CO2 is 44g/mol.
