Step 1: Fuse Wire:

A fuse wire should have a low melting point, so that it melts on excessive heating, prevents damage to appliances.

Step 2 :Reasons:

  • The melting point of copper is very high.
  • The resistance is very low.
  • So, the excessive current can flow through, without melting the copper wire, which results in damage of appliances.
  • Hence, the copper wire cannot be used as a fuse wire.
