Open in App
Solution

Hemophilia:

  1. Hemophilia is an X-chromosome-linked recessive disorder. It is a blood-clotting disorder, it slows the clotting process.
  2. Yes, females can have hemophilia but this case is rare.
  3. It is an X-linked recessive disease, caused by the mutation in the X chromosome.
  4. In females, there are two copies of X chromosomes so a mutation in both X chromosomes will cause the disease.
  5. Mutation in one X chromosome will result in a carrier state.
  6. As mutation in both X chromosomes is rare so females rarely have this disease they become carriers.
