Haemophilia

  1. Haemophilia is a blood disorder where blood doesn't clot properly.
  2. Any injury or damage causes excessive bleeding
  3. It is a sex-linked/ x-linked recessive disorder
  4. As it is a recessive disease, it is expressed in females if two defective X chromosomes are inherited.
  5. In males, one defective X chromosome can result in the disease.
  6. Men with one haemophilia gene pass it on to their daughters and then it can further be inherited by their daughters’ sons or their grandsons.
