Can a single object have kinetic energy but no momentum? Can a system of two or more particles have kinetic energy but no momentum? Explain your answer.

  1. A single object has kinetic energy but no momentum is not possible.
  2. At any instant, if the momentum of two or more objects has equal and opposite directions, the total momentum of the system is zero. But each object possesses individual kinetic energy. So kinetic energy of the system of the particle is non-zero.
