1. The cell is the basic unit of all living organisms. They show characteristics like growth, metabolism, reproduction, and response to the external environment.
2. Urey and Miller tried to create life under laboratory conditions and it has been one of the most successful experiments conducted to create life.
3. However, they could only obtain a few organic molecules (amino acids) but failed to produce complex biomolecules.
4. Even with the current advancements in science, we still cannot create life from scratch.
5. However, scientists were able to create a strain of bacteria (E.coli) with a fully synthetic DNA code.
6. It was created using the components of mycoplasma bacteria and a synthetically created genome.
7. They could grow and divide like natural cells.
