Conditions that prevail underwater:
Oxygen is present in a dissolved form in water.
This makes it difficult for humans to breathe and extract oxygen.
Lack of gills makes it difficult for humans to naturally stay for longer periods underwater.
Also, pressure increases with the depth of water.
Therefore, the human body cannot function at its best underwater.
Humans can eat underwater, but it can be uncomfortable.
There are humans(Bajau Laut tribe- sea nomads) who can hold their breath for longer durations(up to some minutes) underwater. However, it is biologically impossible to live and eat underwater.
