Solution

Dear Student

According Dalton's law of multiple proportion '' when two elements combines to form two or more compounds the ratio of masses of one element that combines with fixed masses of other are in simple whole number''. As in given case ratio carbon and oxygen in CO is 12:16 which will have simplest ratio 3:4 and for the other compound CO2 ratio carbon and oxygen is 12:32 which will has simplest ratio 3:8. Hence, both the compounds are made up of same elements and have simple whole number ratio of carbon and oxygen respectively. Therefore, these figures illustrate the law of Dalton's law of multiple proportion.
