Carbon monoxide is allowed to expand isothermally and reversibly from 10m3 to 20 m3 at 300K and work obtained is 4.754 KJ. Calculate the number of moles of carbon monoxide.

Let us consider the problem:
w=2.303nRT/n(v2v1)
Given that:
w=4754
R=8.314
T=300k
v2=20
v1=10
n=?
putting all values in equation 1st we have
4754=2303×n×8.314×300×(2010)
Therefore, on solving
n=2.75mol
hence the number of moles of car bum Monterrey is 2.75mole
