All living organisms are made up of cells of different shapes and size which perform various functions. For example: Humans have different types of cell based on the the functions:
Red blood cells are tiny spherical cells which are just 8 um in size.
Muscle cells are spindle shaped and they are slightly larger, and they range from 1 mm to 40 mm in size. Some muscle cells can also be cylindrical in shape.
Nerve cells are elongated and branched. They can be as small as 0.1 mm and can reach a length of 1 m.
