Certain amount of gas is present in 5 litre vessel at 1.5 atm pressure 1 litre of water is filled in the vessel and it is further connected to 2 litre empty vessel. Then find the final partial pressure of the gas in the vessel. (Assume gas is not soluble in water)

Initial pressure= $1.5atm$ ; $=P_1$

Initial volume= $5L$; $=V_1$

Final volume= $3L=V_2$

Boyle's Law;

$\Rightarrow P_1{V}_1=P_2{V}_2$

$\Rightarrow \left(1.5\right)5=\left(3\right)P_2$

$\Rightarrow P_2=2.5atm$

$\Rightarrow$ Final pressure= $2.5atm$
