Humans excrete on an average, 1 to 1.5 litres of urine per day. The urine formed is a light yellow coloured watery fluid which is slightly acidic in nature (pH- 6.0).

Counter current mechanism helps to concentrate urine. Henle's loop along with vasa recta play a major role in concentrating the urine using this mechanism.

Liver synthesizes urea from ammonia (Ornithine cycle). Therefore, maximum urea content will be seen in the hepatic vein since, the hepatic vein drains blood from the liver.

The purified blood comes from the kidney through the renal vein. Therefore, it carries the blood with the least amount of urea.
