Question 14
Choose the incorrect statement about insulin
(a) It is produced from pancreas
(b) It regulates growth and development of the body
(c) It regulates blood sugar level
(d) Insufficient secretion of insulin will cause diabetes
(b) It regulates growth and development of the body
Insulin is a hormone secreted by the pancreas. It helps in regulating blood sugar/glucose levels. The main role of insulin is to enable cells in the body to take in glucose from the blood for energy production. If less/no insulin is released, the body cells will not be able to take in glucose from the blood. This, in turn, will lead to high blood glucose while our body cells will be starving.
