Grafting; Provides advantages of stem and root system of two different plants
Grafting is a method in which two closely related varieties of plants are taken and the stem (scion) of one of the plants is joined to the root system (stock) of another. For example, apple and pear plants can be grafted together. By using the pear’s root system and the apple’s stem, we can produce superior apple fruits taking advantage of the better roots of the pear plant. In this way we can get the best characteristics of both plants (apple – good fruit, pear – good roots).
In this method the scion and stock are tied together until the two merge
Note: Sexual reproduction cannot be done without using flowers in plants
