Solution

The correct option is D Fertilisin

Sperms are the male gametes. The sperm consists of the head, neck, middle piece and tail. The anteriormost part of the sperm contains acrosome. Acrosome contains hydrolytic enzymes that helps the sperm in penetrating the oocyte. The hydrolytic enzymes include hyaluronidase (helps in degrading the hyaluronic acid that makes up the ground substance of the cells of corona radiata), acrosin (that helps to digest the zona pellucida).

The sperms also contain a substance called antifertilisin, which helps in the specific recognition of oocyte of the same species through interaction with another substance called fertilisin present on the surface of the oocytes.
