Solution

The correct option is A

Homologous

Homologous pair of chromosomes are those chromosomes which are similar in length, gene locus and centromere position. Out of the pair, one comes from the mother and another comes from the father. Homologous chromosomes pair up during meiosis (i.e. gamete formation) and this pairing is called synapsis. Heterologous chromosomes are chromosomes present on different loci which cannot undergo genetic recombination. Metacentric chromosomes are X-shaped chromosomes, with the centromere in the middle so that the two arms of the chromosomes are almost equal. A telocentric chromosome's centromere is located at the terminal end of the chromosome.
