Let number of girls in class P be x and the number of boys in class P be y

Therefore, total number of students = x + y

Total number of students in Q = 1.5(x + y)

Number of boys in class Q = x

Number of boys in P and Q together = = y+x

Number of girls in P and Q together = x+[1.5(x+y)-x]=1.5(x+y)
% of boys =x+y2.5(x+y)×100=40%
