  • Chemical change: A change in which the composition and chemical properties of the substance get changed is called a chemical change.
  • During a chemical change, one or more new substances are formed.
  • During the burning of paper, ash is formed and Carbon dioxideCO2 is released.
  • As new substances are being formed, they can be considered to be a chemical change.
  • Non-periodic change: The changes that do not occur periodically at regular intervals are known as non-periodic changes.
  • Burning of paper is considered to be a non-periodic change because no regular time intervals are required for the change to occur.
  • Irreversible change: The change which cannot be reversed even by changing conditions is said to be an irreversible change.
  • As new substances are being formed, it is not possible to convert them back to their original form.
