Cochineal are insects present on the pads of prickly pear cactus. These sucking insects are found on the pads of prickly pear cactus such as Nopalea, Opuntia, Platyopuntia. They have piercing mouthparts, with the help of which, they feed on the plant juices. They are immobile.
