Coco has to arrange 800 books in the library. Each shelf can contain \(10\) books. If there are only \(50\) shelves in the library, how many more shelves are needed to arrange all the books?

Number of books Coco has \(= 800\)
Number of books a shelf can contain \(= 10\)
Number of shelves present \(= 50\)
Steps:
We know that 10 tens \(= 1\) hundred
Number of books \(50\) shelves can contain \(= 500\) books
Number of books left to be arranged \(= 800 – 500 = 300\) books
Additional shelves needed for \(300\) books:
\(1\) hundred \(= 10\) tens
\(3\) hundred \(= 30\) tens
So, Coco needs \(30\) more shelves to arrange all the books.
Option B is the answer.
