Solution

The correct option is A Labelling
Collection, drying, stitching, mounting, labelling and deposition are the steps involved in the herbarium techniques.
Labelling is the missing step.

The steps in order are:
• Collection of specimen or plant material

• Drying of the specimen for 24 - 48 hrs (depending on the specimen) between the folds of paper

• Placing the specimen on the herbarium sheet with glue or sellotape which is called mounting

• Stitching the dried part of the plant so that it gets fixed on to the sheet properly

• Spraying preservative such as fungicide to avoid the specimen getting damaged by microbes

• Labelling the specimen at the lower right hand corner of the sheet, indicating name and date of collection, habit and locality of the specimen

• Final step is deposition where the herbarium sheet is covered with the transparent cover
