Solution

A=S(4) PbI4 is unstable. On ionization PbI4 gives Pb4+ and I ions and reduces to Pb4+ to Pb2+ and oxidizes to I2. Simple halides form in the oxidation states +7 and +3. Iodide stabilizes the lower oxidation states +3 to +1 and fluorides the higher oxidation states +7 to +4

B=R(3) White phosphorus is more reactive than red phosphorus. White phosphorus has a tetrahedral basic unit where four phosphorus atoms arranged at the four corners of a tetrahedron are joined together by a total of six single bonds. This creates a very highly strained system which is unstable and very reactive. Red phosphorus is a polymer of P4 tetrahedra, which has much less angular strain.

C=Q(2) Peroxysulfuric acid (H2SO5) known as Caro's acid. Sulphur atom is in sp3 hybridized state as the structure of acid is HOO||S||OOOH and Caro's acid contains one peroxy O22 linkage.

D=R(3) Both SO2 and chlorine are bleaching agents. Bleaching action of chlorine is permanent while that of SO2 is temporary. When Cl reacts with water, it produces nascent oxygen. The bleaching action of Cl is based on oxidation while that of SO2 is based on reuction. SO2 removes oxygen from the dye.
