Statement I => The electrical field calculated by Gauss’s law is the field only due to the charges inside the Gaussian surface.

Statement II => The flux of the electric field through a closed surface due to all the charges (inside and outside the surface), is equal to the flux only due to the charges enclosed by the surface.

Solution

The correct option is C

False, True

It should be well noted that the electric field appearing in the Gauss’s law is the resultant electric field due to all the charges present inside as well as outside the chosen closed Gaussian surface. On the other hand, the charge Qin appearing in the law is only charge contained inside the surface.

Note: Electric field is the property of space and not charges.
