Solution

“Prevention is better than cure”

This statement refers to the maintenance of the physical, mental, and social health of an individual and investing towards preventing the occurrence of any disease, illness, or disorder to avoid investing time and efforts towards the cure of the disease.

  1. If a person maintains personal hygiene by exercising and following a balanced, nutritive, and healthy diet while avoiding the consumption of drugs, alcohol, and substances of abuse they have a high chance of avoiding the contraction of any disease.
  2. In addition to personal hygiene, when individuals of a community aim at keeping a clean environment, organize vaccination drives, and take preventive measures to avoid any unhygienic or unhealthy practices that could invite pathogens, they are making conscious efforts to prevent the occurrence of a disease.
  3. While these healthy habits prevent a disease from occurring, they also prevent the financial, mental, and social resources from being exploited when a disease occurs.
  4. Thus, investing time, energy, and resources towards the prevention of a disease is more valuable and sensible rather than spending them on the cure of a disease.
