Prevention is better

Advancement in science and technology has led to the development of drugs for most of the diseases and they can be cured.

Nonethless diseases cause a lot of physical and emotional difficulties.

A sick person cannot execute normal activities resulting in the loss of efficiency at work and home.

Advantage of prevention over treatment

• For the treatment of certain diseases, medications administered trigger allergic reactions.
• There are some diseases for which the cure is not available. For example:
  • Viral diseases and sexually transmitted diseases are hard to cure and once contacted, they can be life-threatening.
  • For example, AIDS cannot be cured and the patient goes through a lot of pain.
• Vector-borne, water-borne, air-borne diseases develop in the surroundings and are very easy to spread (Covid 19).
• Medications used for the treatment of specific diseases cause several side effects in other organ systems.

These along with many more reasons ascertain the fact that prevention is always better than cure.

So, it is advisable to take preventive measures against diseases.
