OWNERSHIP Under the Zamindari system, the zamindars held the ownership right over the land. Under the Mahalwari system, the ownership right belonged to the farmers. Under the ryotwari system the ownership right of the land belonged to the farmers.

LAND TAXES The revenue was collected by the Zamindars and;
was passed to the
East India Company. The revenue was collected by the head of a Mahal and passed it to the company. The company directly used to collect the revenue from the farmers.

NEGATIVE IMPACTS The Zamindars and the company used to benefit from the system while the farmers were the ones who had to suffer. Due to high taxes, both the head of the Mahal and the farmers had to suffer. Farmers were the only ones who had to suffer.
