Solution

Blood flows twice in the heart. In pulmonary circulation, the deoxygenated blood is carried to the lungs from the right ventricle of the heart, through the pulmonary artery. The oxygenated blood from the lungs is carried back to the left atrium of the heart through the pulmonary vein. This oxygenated blood from the heart is carried to all systems of the body and the deoxygenated blood from the systems below and above the heart is supplied to the right atrium of the heart through the vena cava.
Since the blood flows in the heart twice, therefore this circulation is known as double circulation.
