The Bombay presidency association was started by Badruddin Tyabji, Pherozshah Mehta and K.T. Telang in 1885. This was among the pre congress organizations in Bombay. Hence 1st Statement is correct.

Pherozshah Mehta retired from the Imperial legislative council in 1901 due to bad health. He got elected in his place 35 year old Gokhale who had already marked as a secretary of the poona sarvajanik sabha and the edition of the sudharka. Hence 2^ndstatement is also incorrect.
