$2.$ Since, we know all angles of rectangle are ${90}^{\circ }$ then construct an angle of ${90}^{\circ }$ at $A$ and $B$.

$3.$ Cut off $AD$ and $BC$ at $6cm.$

$4.$ Join $CD$.

Thus, we get the required rectangle $ABCD$.
