Solution

The correct option is B 17.5 cm2

We know that all sides of rhombus are equal.
Draw a line segment AB = 5cm.
Construct an angle 45 at point A.
Cut off AD = 5cm.
Take D as a center with radius 5cm, draw an arc.
Take B as center with radius 5cm, draw an arc meeting previous arc at point C.
Join BC, CD, AC and BD.
AC and BD are two diagonals of rhombus ABCD
By measuring diagonals we get,
l(AC)=p=9.2cm and l(BD)=q=3.8cm ---( 1 )
Area rhombus ABCD=p×q2
9.2×3.82 [From ( 1 )]
Area of rhombus ABCD=17.48cm217.5cm2.
