Construct a triangle PQR in which PQ = 5.5 cm, PR = 6.2 cm and length of the perpendicular from P on QR is 4 cm.

Steps of construction:

Step I: Draw a line segment XY.

Step II: Take a point M on XY and draw MZ XY.

Step III: With M as the centre and radius 4 cm (equal to the length of the altitude), draw an arc that cuts MZ at P.

Step IV: Cut line segments PQ = 5.5 cm and PR = 6.2 cm on XY.

Step V: Join PQ and PR. ΔPQR is the required triangle.
