Construct an isosceles triangle ABC in which base BC = 6.5 cm and altitude from A on BC is 4 cm.

Steps of construction:

Step I: Draw line segment BC = 6.5 cm.

Step II: Draw the perpendicular bisector of BC; label it PM.

Step III: With M as the centre and radius 4 cm (equal to the length of the altitude), draw an arc that cuts MP at A.

Step IV: Join AB and AC. ΔABC is the required triangle.
