Cost of fencing around a square field is 12000. If the cost of fencing per metre is 30, find the area of the square field.

Step 1: Find the side of the square field.

Let a be the side of the square field.

Now, Cost of fencing around the square field is =perimeter×costpermeter

4a×30=12000a=120004×30a=100m

Step 2: Find the area of the field.

We know that, area of the square field=a2

Therefore, area of square field =(100m)2=100m×100m=10,000m2

Hence, the area of the square field is equal to 10000m2.
