David purchased a washing machine on credit. If the machine costs Rs 8000 and the shopkeeper charges interest at the rate of 21% per annum,calculate the amount that David will have to pay after 9 months.

As we know that,
A=P(1+R×t100)
Here,
A= Amount =?
P= Principal =Rs.8000
R= Rate of interest =21% per annum
T= Time =9 months=912=34 years
Therefore,
A=8000⎜ ⎜ ⎜1+21×34100⎟ ⎟ ⎟
A=8000×400+63400
A=20×463=9260
Hence David will have to pay Rs.9260.
