Solution

Deepak Shah practiced his right to seek redressal against unfair or restrictive trade practices. Deepak Shah needs to file the complaint with the District Forum initially as this forum settles claims where the value of products/services is less than Rs 20 lakh and his car value is Rs 19 lakh. If not satisfied with the orders of the District Forum then Deepak can file an appeal before the State Commission within 30 days. State commission usually addresses claims of products valued more than Rs 20 lakh but this commission can also modify the orders of the District Forum. If Deepak is not satisfied with the order of the State Commission then he can file an appeal within 30 days with the National Commission. The Commission also entertains an appeal after 30 days if adequate causes of delay were also provided. Deepak Shah will, however, need to accept the order provided by the National Commission as final.
