Sandy Soil:
  • Particles of sandy soil are bigger in size.
  • Due to large size sand particles cannot fit close together and due to this there is enough space among them, these spaces are filled with air.
  • Water removes quickly through sandy soil.
  • sandy soil is properly aerated, light and dry type of soil.
Clayey Sol:
  • size of particles of clay soil commonly found very small .
  • Particles of clayey soil packed tightly. There is very Small space among the particles.
  • Water does not removed quickly through clayey soil because of small space among particles.
  • clayey soil is not properly aerated and retains more water.
Silt
Silt is granular material of a size or range between sand and clay, whose mineral origin is quartz and feldspar. Silt sometime occur as a soil (generally mixed with sand or clay )and soil in a body of water such as a river.
