Deficiency of iron in the food leads to_________.
Anaemia
Deficiency of iron in the food leads to anaemia. Iron is an important element required for the formation of red blood cells (RBCs). In RBCs, haemoglobin is formed with iron and globin protein. This respiratory pigment, haemoglobin, is necessary for carrying oxygen to all the cells of the body. If iron is less in the food, it leads to decreased haemoglobin which is called anaemia.
