Evidence that NaCl is a compound-
1. Compounds cannot be separated by simple physical means and to separate Sodium Chloride into Sodium and chloride we have to use chemical methods.
2. NaCl does not show properties of either Sodium(Na) or Chlorine (Cl) which is a characteristic property for defining a compound.
