Define Antiseptics.

Antiseptics are drugs that are applied to the living tissues to kill the bacteria and to stop their growth in wound, thus preventing its infection. They do not heal the wound but prevent the wound from getting infected. Examples of antiseptics are dettol, bithional, iodoform, boric acid, phenol, hydrogen peroxide etc.
