Solution
Chlorofluorocarbons
-
A chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs) is an organic compound that contains only carbon, chlorine, and fluorine used in refrigerants and in fire extinguishers.
CFCs reach the ozone layer and each chlorine molecule present in CFCs breaks down one lack molecule of ozone.
The amount of ozone in the atmosphere began to drop sharply. Causing harmful effects.
Thus the use of CFCs has been phased out.
