Waste which consists of unwanted material produced by the construction or industries is known as the construction waste. Building materials such as insulation, nails, electrical wiring, shingle, and roofing as well as waste produced from site preparation such as dredging materials, tree stumps, and rubble are included in construction waste. Lead, asbestos, or other hazardous substances are also present in this kind of waste.
Construction wastes are found in a large amount in urban areas as compared to rural areas. The main reason for this difference is that there is more construction in the urban areas than the rural areas.
A lot of construction wastes are generated these days. The main reason for this increase is the fastest growth of construction industry which is very important for the growth of economy. There is also lack of an efficient waste management system which can control the waste at source and manage the waste at every stage of construction project.
