Drip irrigation is a modern type of irrigation system in which fields are supplied with small pipes connected to large pipes which in turn are connected to water sources such as wells. Water from the wells then reach the plants through these pipes.
The advantages of drip irrigation system are:
It is a boon in water-scarce places.
It supplies plants with right amount of water, thereby conserving water.
It is also used to deliver the right amount of nutrients to the plants.
