Fruit:

  1. Fruit is the structure that develops from the mature ovary.
  2. It is sweet fleshy and edible part of the plant where most of the food produced in the plant is stored.
  3. The parts of a fruit include the pericarp and the seed.

Pericarp:

  1. The pericarp is made up of three structures called the endocarp, mesocarp and epicarp.
  2. The epicarp forms the outer covering of the fruit.
  3. The mesocarp forms the middle fleshy part of the fruit which is the edible part.
  4. The endocarp is the internal structure of the fruit which encloses the seed.

Seeds:

  1. The seeds develop after the ​fertilization between the male and female gametes inside the ovule.
  2. Ovule after maturation develops into seed.
