1:- Inertia: The inherent property of an object due to which it resists any change in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line by itself is called inertia.

2:- Inertia of direction: The inherent property of an object moving along a straight line to continue to move along the same direction unless some external force changes its direction of motion is called inertia of direction.
