Sericulture -The rearing of silkworms to obtain silk is known as sericulture. During a stage of its life cycle, the silkworm weaves a net around itself. Silk is then obtained from this net.

Horticulture - Horticulture is the study of cultivating or growing garden plants like flowers, fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants.

India's position-

1. 2nd largest after China in production of fruits and vegetables
2. Produces 13% of world's vegetables
3. Grows worldwide famous variety of tropical and sub-tropical fruits like mango(Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh), oranges(Nagpur and Cherapunjee) etc.
