Dear student,
Here is the answer:
The wearing away of the top soil is known as soil erosion. Human activities such as deforestation, over grazing, construction activities and mining are some man-made reasons of soil erosion. Apart from this natural forces like wind, glacier and flowing water leads to soil erosion.
Types of soil erosion:
a) When the water flows as a sheet and washes away the top soil it is known as sheet erosion.
b) Wind also blows away the top soil of the land. This is known as wind erosion.
c) The running water cuts through the clayey soil making gullies. Due to which the soil is washed away. This is known as gully erosion.
d) When concentrated water removes the soil it is called as rill erosion. Here the downward flow of water and soil particles starts to cut small channels.
