  • Antibiotics are antimicrobial drugs obtained from other organisms, such as moulds, fungus, and some soil bacteria to combat harmful microorganisms.
  • These are the chemical substances that are used to kill the microorganism which entered in our body.
  • The first antibiotic was made by Alexander Fleming and named Penicillin.
  • Penicillin was obtained from a fungus called Penicillin notatum.
  • These antimicrobial drugs are not useful against viral disease.
  • For example, Penicillin, Quinolones, Tetracyclines, Macrolides, etc.
