  • The temperature at which a solid state change into a liquid state at atmospheric pressure is called the melting point.
  • This is the point at which both liquid and solid phase co exists at equilibrium.
  • The melting point of the substance also varies with pressure.

(b) Boiling Point :

  • It is defined as the temperature at which the vapor pressure of the liquid becomes equal to its atmospheric pressure.
